Experiment

Here I wanted to try to work a little bit more with one of my sketches so I played around with it in photoshop for a little while. It was quite fun so I might do that more from now on.

Here are two versions of a little drawing I made for my cousin's birthday.

Nananananananana-MAYA!

So my second try at Maya ended up like this! It was a lot of fun to do and I will definitely try to do some more Maya stuff during the vacation.

Exam

So last week we had an exam. We had to make Tillie the Hippo from Cat's Don't Dance eat a piece of pie only to discover that it tasted horrible and the spit it out. All of this had to fit within 5 seconds. I had a little trouble getting started with this assignment, but once I got into it it was pretty fun.

Now this week we are learning Maya! It is my first time ever trying Maya, and so far it is nice. On our first day we did a quick little character model to get to know the program. I ended up with this:

Showreel 2nd semester

Here is my showreel for my second semester at The Animation Workshop. It contains everything I've done in school so there are things I am pleased with and things I don't like that much.

Character Design Week

It's been an intense week with the brilliant Julia Bracegirdle as our teacher. We did a lot of designs, a short film and a lot of other things. These are a few of my things:

And the short film:

Bo is cool

So the photoshop course with my good friend Bo Mathorne is now over. It was fun and I certainly learned a lot which I look forward to playing around with. Today I worked on this(with a lot of help from Bo):

Photoshop with Bo Mathorne

The first day of our weekend course with Bo Mathorne is over. It has been fun trying to do stuff in photoshop. I am still struggling with it, but I think it is getting better and better!
This is the piece i worked on for a bit today:
It is not finished, so I might continue working on it later.

Design2

A tough week has now ended.
This week I had design2 with the brilliant Lawrence Marvit. I have never in my life had such a tough and exhausting week; yet I don't think I have learned so much in such a short period of time either. It has been a journey for me - I started out excited about design an rendering, but I quickly turned to hating it. Slowly I went from there and now I am starting to really enjoy and love it. I still find it hard, but I definitely want to keep on working with both design and rendering and improve my skills.
Enough with the talk, let's get to the results!

First off, we had to design a weapon used by the people in Atlantis. At first I wanted to make some kind of dagger, but Lawrence told me to go bigger, so I ended up doing a sort of ballista on top of a big hermit crab. The end result didn't end up quite as I wanted it, due to my lack of rendering skills(and a lack of time):

Next up we were to design a playground for kids, using dinosaurs or dinosaur skeletons. I think my idea and the sculptural quality of the playground is ok, but I'm not liking the composition of the picture and the rendering. We were only given a very short period of time for these rather big assignments, so again I found myself in a lack of time. This is what I got in the end:

At last we had to do an illustration with the theme "Undead-zombie/ghost-pirates and pirateships coming out of the water in the canals of Venice at night". A great theme. There were some great illustrations at this presentation and you could really tell how much people had improved. Even Lawrence seemed almost happy. Here is my result:

Next week its back to animating and I am really looking forward to that!

DUCK

Decided to throw some colours on this one. I might do the same with some of the other sketches. It was night to have something simple to fool around with in photoshop.

Parashoot

Hey all!
It's been a bit since I posted last. I've been very busy in school the last few weeks - but some awesome things came out of it. I'll try to show you as much of it as possible! At school we mixed up with the film people, photographers and webbers to make and advertising company. Ours was called Parashoot.
Here are some of the things we did:
Jane and I made the homepage for the firm: http://jlangkilde.dk/hjemmeside.swf
I did a poster and a film for another company(the film will be up here later) :
I got the idea for this ad and helped edit it:

I think that will be it for now, but I'll scoop up some more of my Parashoot-work + I'll do some scans of my sketchbooks so you'll be able to see what I've been doing lately.

Post

Okay it's pretty late so I'm gonna make it quick.
Here are some sketches, let me know what you think!

And now I will ask you to just take a moment and look at these three different versions of my colored sketch.
1...2...3... GO!

Are you done checking the 3 different color versions out? No?
Well then check them again!

Okay, now that you've been looking at 3 almost identical drawings for 15 mintutes(or maybe less) you must have a favorite. Now your job is to tell me which style of coloring you like the most. Good luck and enjoy!

Oh and drive safely please.

Flash!

Hey all!
So I brought some of my flashstuff home today and I will try to post it here. I'm not sure if it will work but let's give it a try.
First of is an image I made when I was bored in class.
It turned out fun so it will be your appetizer for today. Next up is what I made when we played around with shapetweening. It's just something quick smashed together, so it's not nicelooking or anything. But you get an idea of what I pretend to be learning in school.

Yeah...

Next up we tried to do a bit more "real" animation. We did some walkcycles and funny stuff, and here are some of my works!
I hope you liked at least a small amount of what I brought you today, and maybe you will check my blog out again some time!
