TV Paint

We've finished our intro to TV paint and it was very fun. I like the program and find it relatively easy and intuitive to use. At first we did a cycle of a bird flying:

And then a little scene with a frog and a fly. All we got was a layout, a timeframe of around 10 seconds and then the beginning of a story: "A frog sits peacefully on a waterlily. A fly enters." From here we had to make up the rest on our own. This is what I ended up with after 2 days of work:

Now it is time for christmas holiday :)

Acting Animation

Another week of animation is over. I finished the assignment on time and I am pretty happy with my result. It is not fully animated so I might go and finish the inbetweens and secondary actions later.

Next week we are going to start working with TV Paint. I have been looking forward to this for some time now. It is going to be nice to lose all the papers and to gain the beloved ctrl+z option. Uri Kranot is going to keep on teaching us, and I'm glad. He is a very good and nice teacher. He has taught me alot the last couple of weeks. So here is a caricature sketch I did of him:

Panther Again

I just wanted you to see the attitude walk without the silly tail too:

And a quick sketch of my teacher:

Panther with attitude

An amazing week with Uri Kranot has passed and my panther is now walking confidently!
This assignment was really fun - it was tough but fun. I learned a lot from this and I am fairly happy with my result. The only thing I might want to change is the tail.
Next week we are going to do some more acting animation. Fun stuff!

14 November 2011

Decided to throw some colours on this one. I might do the same with some of the other sketches. It was night to have something simple to fool around with in photoshop.

Lecture Sketches

Here are a few sketches done in my lectures.

31 October 2011

So I went to the croquis session today for the first time in months. I am out of shape! I need to kick myself in the butt and get to the croquis some more. It is really fun and some of the best practice you can do, so I don't really get why I don't do it more often. Well, here are a few of my drawings from this evening:

And I found some old ones too:

Drawing for animation

So two weeks of drawing for animation with Frederik Villumsen has ended. They were really great and very helpful. I learned so much, and I can't wait to use it in my next animation assignment.
We worked with Stitch from Disney's Lilo and Stitch, and he had to get a fruit from a given background, and he had to do it in a playful manner.
Take a look at my scene:

Next up:
Design with Lawrence Marvit -- going to be tough!

Mike Polvani

For the last 4 weeks this brilliant guy has been my teacher:

He's been an excellent teacher, he has really taught me alot. It's gonna be sad when he leaves us tomorrow.

Oh well, back to animating!

Hitting a Table

This is my hitting a table/breaking of joints animation.

The next week I will be animating a flour sack jumping a gap in a cliff. I'm looking very much forward to doing this excercise. There will be alot more acting in this animation than in the others I have done and I really love acting ;)

A sad ball

This is my ball with an attitude/emotion. The assignment was to make a 7 seconds long animation of a ball in a certain mood or attitude. I had to do a ball that was sad.
