VR Preproduction

It's been a while since I posted anything here. Lately my tumblr has been a bit more busy, so you can always swing by and have a look there! (christofferkramme.tumblr.com)

I have also been busy with my bachelor film from The Animation Workshop. We have been working on it since mid 2013, and here is a little summary of some of the things we did before the end of the year:

For more cool stuff from Vagabond Rail check out our blog: vagabondshortfilm.blogspot.dk

I will hopefully get to put some more stuff up here soon. At the moment I am working on a graduation film at the Danish Filmschool - it is going to be really good, so maybe I will show some of that stuff soon!

Vagabond Rail

Hello everyone.
I haven't posted anything here for a while - but that is not because I am not doing anything!
My bachelor film is well under way and it is keeping me very busy. I would like to post some things from it soon but for now you will have to make do with this:

It is a walk cycle I did so we could test our pipeline and different design aspects. It is at a stage right before compositing, so it will get some more niceness put on top. I will post it again when it is done.

If you are interested you can follows us here: http://vagabondshortfilm.blogspot.dk/

Thanks for stopping by :)

Vikings

Here it is, a short stop motion animated film I made with my very good and talented friend Lærke during our spare time. We did it mostly to try something new, work together and have fun. And we succeeded in all of that! Now we just hope you will enjoy it too.
And who knows; maybe we will make a sequel?

Acting Interaction

Here is a little shot I did in school. It was a great experience doing and our teacher Hugo Hernandez was amazing. I hope you will like it!

March and sun

The sun is finally showing it's face again, so I thought I would update my blog a bit!
Here are some sketches, and above you see a dialogue exercise I did in school.

Midway Exam

We spent this week on our own, doing our Midway Exam Test. The assignment was to do a kung fu animation 5-7 seconds long. We were given a pose to start and end in and a camera to animate to. Then we had 5 days to come up with the idea and execute it. It was great fun getting to animate on your own, with no teacher to help or interrupt.

Here is my assignment:

Daisy Walk

We spent a few days on learning the walk for a 4-legged creature.

Action Parkour

As promised, here is my parkour scene!

There are still some things that I would like to fix, so perhaps I will upload a new one later.

A walk and a throw

This is my 100th post on this blog! I'm gonna celebrate it with a drawing... later!

Bow

We've started animating Hogan. It is fun to try something a little more complex than the Luxo Lamp, but it can also be a bit frustrating at times. For this assignment we were supposed to make him bow. I wanted mine to be a medieval guardian who's been standing outside of a castle all day. He's really tired and just wants to sleep, but it is his job to guard the gates and bow for those who enter.

Not quite Pixar

Today was our first day of animating a character with a rig. We got a FK rig of the Luxo lamp, and were asked to make a hopcycle. It was a bit harder than just animating a ball, but I still think it is very fun to do!

Ball In Room

On our fourth day of Maya, we were to create a short scene with a ball. We could do pretty much whatever we wanted, as long as we used what we had learned. I made up a short story and had so much fun animating it! I hope you'll like it.

My very first Maya post(with animation)

So yesterday we got our first introduction to animation in Maya. So far I think it is really fun, and I am looking much more forward to animating in 3D than I was before I had tried it.
At home i spent 20-30 minutes experimenting in Maya, and I even have something to show! So here is my very first public Maya animation:

Exam

So last week we had an exam. We had to make Tillie the Hippo from Cat's Don't Dance eat a piece of pie only to discover that it tasted horrible and the spit it out. All of this had to fit within 5 seconds. I had a little trouble getting started with this assignment, but once I got into it it was pretty fun.

Now this week we are learning Maya! It is my first time ever trying Maya, and so far it is nice. On our first day we did a quick little character model to get to know the program. I ended up with this:

Showreel 2nd semester

Here is my showreel for my second semester at The Animation Workshop. It contains everything I've done in school so there are things I am pleased with and things I don't like that much.

Claudide

Here is another little thing I did. I didn't get to do all the inbetweens, and there are a few things that could need a little tweaking

Les Super Super

This week we have been working with students from the french school La Poudrière. They are developing 3 TV-series for children. I worked on one called Les Super Super. It is a really cool concept, and it would make a great show. Here is an animation test I did:

Flash action!

So in the second half of our intro to Flash we had to do some action animation. I tried using the bone tool to create a puppet that I could move and animate, but it didn't work as well as I had hoped. I managed to get a little animation done though:
